Cookie Policy

Last updated: 16 July 2026

This policy explains the cookies Troop uses. We keep this list deliberately short: Troop does not run advertising, and does not use any tracking or analytics cookie today.

1. Essential cookies (always on)

These are required for the Service to work and cannot be switched off. We don't ask for consent to set these, in line with UK PECR guidance, because the Service cannot function without them.

  • Session/authentication cookie(set by Supabase Auth) — keeps you signed in between page loads, and tells us which account is making a request so we can enforce that a guardian only ever sees their own family's data.
  • Cookie-consent choice— remembers that you've seen and dismissed the cookie banner, so we don't show it again on every visit.

2. Analytics and marketing cookies

We don't use any today. If we introduce analytics in future (e.g. to understand which pages are useful), we will update this page first and ask for your consent via the cookie banner before setting anything beyond the essential cookies above — you'll always be able to decline.

3. Third-party cookies

Stripe may set its own cookies during the payment step, for fraud prevention — these are set directly by Stripe, governed by Stripe's own privacy policy, and are outside Troop's control.

4. Managing cookies

You can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings — note that blocking the session cookie will sign you out and prevent you from using Troop, since it's essential to the Service. You can change your cookie-banner choice at any time from the link in the footer.
